...and a couple of cats

Endlessly supervising the work I do, my two cats are here.

Cuthbert -- the big guy -- is 2 1/2 years old, a Norwegian Forest Cat who knows how to separate the fibers in our rayon threads, and Emmy my calico, who is ageless.

Occasionally they will allow me some space to work. Sometimes I move them myself.

Millefiori - Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery

Millefiori -- the name means "a thousand flowers."

This journey begins with a needle and thread -- rayon floss, as beautiful as silk, but more durable and available in colors that are shaded, overdyed, solid or variegated -- and we'll use it to thread a path through dimensional embroidery stitches, flowers and anything else that comes to mind.
